JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment) to join our team on contract for an upcoming shutdown.

Wood “Operations” delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry. Wood enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region’s most prominent Oil & Gas and LNG producers with operations in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer with expertise in Rotating Equipment, you will be reporting directly to the Regional Piping / Mechanical Lead Engineer and working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery.

Taking the lead on some of the world’s most technically challenging brownfields Oil & Gas projects for the Mechanical Engineering group, you will join likeminded, agile industry peers who are highly qualified and recognised industry innovators to create new possibilities...

Suitably qualified in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry on brownfields projects within an Engineering / EPCM office
  • In-depth technical knowledge of Rotating Equipment - design and operation
  • Extensive design and knowledge of applicable codes and standards (both international and Australian)
  • Ability to manage risk during the design process consistent with technical and commercial requirements
  • Excellent analytical, literacy and numerical skills
  • Proven experience managing small teams of Engineers
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience in client facing roles

What will set you apart will be your expertise in Rotating Equipment technology and experience with GE Frame 7.

You must have full Australian work rights and currently reside in either Western Australia or the Northern Territory, to be considered for this role.
