Success to date has laid the foundation for the future and the business is continuing to grow exponentially, we are now hiring an EMC Engineer. This position reports directly to the Engineering Director – Existing Products at Tritium Pty Ltd and is based at company offices in Murarrie, Brisbane. 


The EMC Engineer has responsibility (ownership) for product compliance testing and validation of requirements in accordance with regulatory standards for EMC (IEC,FCC)

You will have a deep and broad knowledge and experience in the application of international standards and regulations for electrical devices and their testing to EMC requirements in a compliance level test facility environment. You will be working with engineers (customers) to test their new designs and/or products so that EMC and or EMR/RF compliance is achieved.

Working within a team of Compliance engineers, the EMC Engineer is responsible for the compliance and validation testing for EMC in support for new and existing products. 

Responsibilities

 Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the EMC facility.
  • Assist in the specification and selection of compliant standard facilities and test equipment.
  • Coordination with 3rd party suppliers on procurement and commissioning of EMC test facilities and equipment
  • Lead the facility towards accreditation.
  • Manage, train and support EMC test engineers and technicians.
  • Assist engineering teams and project managers with EMC planning and mitigation.
  • Hands on day to day set-up and completion of EMC compliance testing to IEEE standards at all stages of product development (X1, M1, M2, VP and TT) from prototype through to production for both products and sub-systems.
  • Design of test requirements for EMC related testing with an area of focus to meet compliance
  • Maintain appropriate calibration status of all EMC related test equipment
  • Generation of product design validation test plans for EMC related testing
  • Testing of existing products in support of engineering change activity.
  • Generation and management of test compliance documentation for existing fast charger products and upcoming related projects.
  • Problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and propose technical solutions to non-compliant hardware
  • Remaining abreast of the latest developments in engineering and regulatory requirements including UL, CSA, IEC, FCC, IEEE, etc.
  • Provide support to existing test and validation engineering team with validation and compliance testing
  • Provide EMC technical oversight to engineering development teams

Qualifications and Competencies 

  • Experience in EMC Compliance testing of electronics products in a regulated environment (automotive, medical, aerospace, defence, etc.). 
  • A background in Electronic circuit and product design, also of interest would be experience in assisting with aspects relating to product EMC compliance. 
  • Experience in the use of EMC test equipment and facilities in a test laboratory environment. Strong attention to detail and meticulous in your approach. 
  • Experience in the generation of detailed paperwork and reports to support compliance engineering activities and submissions to relevant standards and industry bodies. 
  • Strong personable skills that include the ability to develop internal stakeholder relationships as well as external relationships with industry bodies and partners. 
  • BSc/BA in Engineering Electrical/Electronic, Systems Engineering or a related degree.
