Traffic Engineering Technology & Systems; Engineering & Technology; Infrastructure Management and Delivery; Brisbane
The position is accountable for a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to the following:
• Provide authoritative traffic signal technologies engineering advice to senior staff and internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop technical policies, standards and guidelines for Queensland in the domain of ITS and system infrastructure which support the implementation of inter-operable road and transport based ITS applications.
• Assist with the execution of the professional development for Engineers, Technologists and staff, by contributing to professional direction and guidance to team and individual development.
• Manage and participate in multi-disciplinary project teams delivering ITS and system projects, including contract management, to ensure that projects are delivered within time, cost and quality dimensions to internal and external clients.
• Represent Transport and Main Roads on relevant external committees at State and National levels relating to infrastructure, traffic management and present papers in transport related forums.
• Provide assistance to Branch management on a broad range of ITS infrastructure matters as encountered by the Branch and/or as directed
• Ensure all project activities fully support employment equity, ethical practice and workplace health and safety.
• Perform research and development activities in a range of technologies that will further develop ITS and Traffic system products.
• Contribute to strategic and business planning processes.
This position reports to the Principal Technician
Mandatory requirements:
• A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Discipline) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
• Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in one of the following three areas of engineering:
o Electrical
o Information, Technology and Telecommunications
o Information, Telecommunications and Electronics
• Current holder of car driver's licence.
Intrastate and interstate travel may be required.
