JOB DESCRIPTION
The Position:
Our Client is currently seeking a full-time Plumber to join our Sydney team to assist with increasing project demands in the Sydney Metropolitan area.
Key duties will include
- Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems and materials required
- Reading and interpreting engineering specifications and plans
- On site removal and installation works
- Setting out and installing hot and cold water systems and associated equipment
- Installing water-based fire protections systems, including fire hydrants, hose reels and sprinkler systems
- Designing and installing sanitary plumbing and water supply systems, discharge pipes and sanitary fixtures
- Designing and installing sanitary plumbing and water supply systems, discharge pipes and sanitary fixtures
- Fabricating and installing soil and waste stacks
- Assembling and installing mechanical services plant, air handling and conditional equipment and small bore heating systems
- Installing sewerage and effluent pumping equipment and disposal systems
- Installing below-ground drainage systems and associated ground support systems
- Installing gas appliances, flues and pressure regulating devices
- Fabricating and installing metal roofing, rainwater goods and flashings
- Loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools and equipment and transporting them around sites
- Erecting and dismantling temporary structure such as barricades and scaffolding
- Writing of purchase requisitions
- Minor civil remediation works
- Quality assurance verification
- Giving direction to trades assistants and / or apprenticed trade person when assigned
- To help implement better ideas or efficiency and quality benefits
- Maintain a high level of safety requirements and documentation / records
- Ensure the appropriate grade of tools, equipment and consumables are being used
- Pick up and delivery of general items from Clients and Suppliers
The Person:
As the successful candidate you will have:
Essential:
- Current Drivers Licence
- Certificate III in Plumbing or equivalent
- Nationally Recognised OHS Construction Card (White Card)
- Demonstrated ability to perform oral and written tasks with minimal supervision
- Experience in carrying out industrial maintenance work
- Sound knowledge of repairing, maintaining and testing mechanical and pressure safety valves or similarly related equipment
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Competent computing skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Project
- Good understanding of ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements
- Collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team as well as the ability to work autonomously
- High level of self-discipline, self-motivation; energy and initiative
- Resilient and fast paced.
- Ability to prioritise and schedule activities to optimise time and resource utilisation
