Multiple new roles available for a career-focussed Building Project Manager with strong design documentation

Your new company
A state government department responsible for delivering a statewide program of high $ value projects require multiple Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to join their team to assist in delivering a program of works from design documentation through to delivery for numerous projects. This team work closely with critical services to ensure facilities are of a high quality and fit for purpose. Due to a secondment, the team will need assistance for project delivery for a 12 month period.

Your new role
Your responsibilities will include:

  • strong design documentation attention to detail
  • prepare and assess tender documents
  • engage with consultants including architects and engineers
  • monitor budgets and timeframes
  • oversee the construction phase
  • monitor handover and liability period
  • ensuring stakeholders have access to modern, fit-for-purpose facilities
  • strong management of relationships with stakeholders, clients and service providers
  • an understanding of construction procurement methodology
  • engagement of consultants and contractors, regular site attendance during construction, contract administration, financial reporting and project governance

The projects this unit handle vary in size between $2M to up to $250M and include structural building upgrades, refurbishments and new builds for large public assets.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated and very strong design documentation abilities
  • Highly motivated and proactive with a "can do" attitude
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are key to experiencing success in this role
  • Ability to work on more than one project concurrently
  • Demonstrated experience within the building industry in Capital Works as a Project Manager with relevant qualifications in Engineering, Architecture or Construction
  • Previous experience working as a Project/Senior Project Manager within either the Education (schools or universities), healthcare or other large scale public facilities from either state side or private sector
  • Strong leadership skills, as well as the ability to prioritise and organise multiple tasks simultaneously.
