JOB DESCRIPTION

A great opportunity exists in our Brisbane office for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Power Group and be actively involved in leading renewable energy project, Transmission & Distribution projects and Defence Projects. This is a critical role which will allow you to develop your career further and be part of a highly capable, dynamic team.

You will be required to lead and provide technical support to project teams from our network of operating centres on power projects in different stages of development and implementation particular e.g., Owner’s Engineer (OE), feasibility studies and Technical Due Diligence (TDD) assignments.

This position offers a good variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Developing and significantly growing GHD’s presence and market share across the power industry
  • Provide support to power projects being delivered across Australia and internationally
  • Generate technical reports for clients
  • Support project managers and bid coordinators to prepare successful proposals for winning new work
  • Contributing to the overall functioning of the Power Business Group.


What You Will Bring To The Team
  • Minimum of 5 years’ and up to 10 years’ experience in HV/LV Electrical Design
  • Knowledge of Substation design, Renewable power generation i.e. large-scale solar farm and wind farm design, Battery Storage, transmission line design and secondary systems design
  • Experience with applicable codes, standards and regulations
  • Demonstrated experience working in an EPC or consulting environment, including working closely with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers and/or project developers.
  • Proven ability to prepare technical reports and winning proposals
  • Client facing and reporting skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with internal and external clients clearly and concisely
  • Willingness to travel to and work onsite domestically and internationally if required
  • Mentor other members of the Power team by building their technical, project management and client management skills
  • Experience in site construction works for generation projects is a real advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in power generation projects (conventional and renewable technologies)
  • Demonstrated experience in power generation projects, (conventional and renewable technologies), detail design, Technical Due Diligence and OE roles


Qualifications
  • You will have as minimum a degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Having, or to be actively working towards Chartered status (eg CPEng, RPEQ) is highly desirable
  • Project Management qualifications are also an advantage
