We are currently looking to engage an additional Senior Civil Drafter (Technician) to join our Rail team in our Perth office.

Overview Of The Role

  • Autonomous preparation of high-quality drawing and model deliverables for major Rail projects
  • Working closely with engineers and design modelers to ensure drawing production is on-time and to the required client presentation standards
  • Maintaining and reporting on personal workload, forecasting time to complete for tasks
  • Quality review of drawings produced by others, including checking, mark-up and back-checking in accordance with quality standards and procedures
  • Comply with Documentation Standards and Quality Systems relevant to client and discipline
  • Manage and monitor the quality of work performed by others and promote a culture of technical excellence through mentoring and training less experienced drafters
  • Fulfil Project Drafter role – manage the drafting aspects of projects of varying complexity and size, including planning and controlling of deliverables, management of a small CAD team and ensuring effective communication between engineering and drafting staff on the project
  • Possess appropriate time management skills and flexibility to allow for the management of a varying workload
  • Actively assist colleagues in achieving improved client feedback results, enhance satisfaction and exceed client expectations
  • Contribute to building the technical capability of others and transferring technical expertise within the organisation

What We’ll Love About You
  • Senior Civil Drafter (Technician) with 10+ years’ experience - rail experience ideal
  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification) is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in production of high quality design drawings for civil engineering and transport projects, to local WA standards
  • Preparation of drawings and reference models in Microstation is necessary
  • Experienced in the use of ProjectWise for management of drawings and design models
  • Experience in various project phases including tender design, detailed design, and as-built drawing production
  • Experience in managing the drafting of small to medium sized projects including the work of others
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with all levels of staff
  • Working knowledge of Organisational approach to risk management, ethics and safety
