Bechtel Mining and Metals are expanding our high performing team in Perth and are looking for a Principal Process Engineer with strong experience in the iron ore and lithium processing industries.

You will be responsible for:

  • All process engineering activities associated with proposals, studies and projects for the Western Australian region.
  • Supporting wider Bechtel Mining and Metals process engineering groups across Australia, South America and Europe/Middle East.
  • Support project development activities through the concept setting and review process
  • Contributing to the resolution of technically difficult design problems across our business
  • Supervising the preparation of process engineering for feasibility studies and projects and manage engineering progress and deliverables
  • Developing and fostering relationships to maximise business with new and existing clients

You are required to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Minerals Process Engineering or Metallurgy.
  • Experience in process engineering for iron ore crushing and screening and beneficiation plants. Ideally a combination of operational and design experience in iron ore processing in both preparation and wet plants of magnetite. Exposure to lithium, cobalt and nickel process plants will also be an advantage. This should also include knowledge of latest industry developments in unit processes.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholder and problem solving skills
  • Have managed a small to medium size process engineering team
  • Strong knowledge of project engineering processes and procedures
  • Effective communication skills along with demonstrated supervision skills
  • Solid planning and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills – both written and oral
  • Strong external industry networking and recognition.
