UON's business today centers around the design, supply and installation of remote power and water solutions, and is transitioning to the provision of hybrid and renewable solutions to capitalise on the global megatrend of decarbonisation. Remote renewable based power and water solutions is a growth industry for UON as current systems have a high carbon footprint, high cost variability and low efficiency in hot Australian conditions.
About the Role
As a result of our continued operations, we seek the support of an experienced Renewable Engineering Technician to join our team in Perth, for an immediate start.
This position is full-time, working 38 hours a week (guaranteed) plus reasonable additional hours.
Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 per annum (plus super)
Hiring Criteria
In order to be successful, candidates must:
- Possess the minimum of an engineering degree plus 2 years’ work experience with renewable microgrid systems
- Have experience in commissioning (SMA) PV systems and (Rolls-Royce) Lithium-Ion battery storage systems and ComAp controlled generators
- Have an excellent understanding of microgrid SCADA logic
- Have fault-finding skills related to microgrid SCADA logic
- Have experience in HOMER software simulations
- Have experience in drawing and interpretating electrical schematics of Australian and German standards
- Be able to demonstrate superior English and competent German language skills
- Be honest, motivated, reliable and responsible character
- Be willing (and able) to commit to permanent, ongoing employment in the long-term
- Be willing to work long hours and/or night shifts if required
- Be able to work autonomously and under pressure
- Possess sound electrical engineering skills, as well as proven knowledge of and an extensive repertoire in the mining industry.
