Our painting business requires a full time qualified and experienced painter. The successful applicant will have relevant trade qualification and at least 2 years work experience as a painter and decorator. This is a full time position and the hours of work are 40 hours per week. You will be required to work some overtime where necessary

Job Tasks and Duties:

· Smooth and prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding and removing old paint;

· Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler;

· Tape, float, and texture walls and ceilings;

· Select premixed paints or mix required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint to match specified colors;

· Paint surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers, and apply paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects;

· Stain, seal, and varnish wood surfaces;

· Erect scaffolding or set up ladder to perform tasks above ground level;

· Cleaning equipment and work areas;

· May repair windows and replace glass in wooden and metal frames;

· Repair damages in plaster walls and ceilings.

Requirements:

Painting experience 2 year +

Certificate 3 in Painting and Decorating

White Card 

Work with children card

Australian driver's licence (Preferred)

Work Eligibility: Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours (e.g. citizen, permanent resident) (Preferred)

Speak fluent English
