Round Oak Minerals (Round Oak) is an emerging base and precious metals producer with a number of Australian based mining and processing operations.

The Company is now seeking a full-time, Planning Engineer to assist in the development short to medium term mine plans and contribute to the operational strategy on an 8:6 roster.

This role is based at our Jaguar mine site, which is located 60km north of Leonora and 250km north of Kalgoorlie, comprises the Jaguar and Bentley copper-zinc-silver underground mines, a processing plant and an exploration team.

Job Description

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Planning Engineer, the planning engineer:

  • Oversee’s the weekly planning process and ensure the mine plans are reviewed and distributed;
  • Designs mine development and issues mining instructions;
  • Identifies and improves mining methods and sequences for production;
  • Prepares accurate quarterly and monthly schedules in line with the budget and LOM plans;
  • Produces block notes and stope notes to ensure safe and efficient production plans are created.

The mine planning engineer also assists the Senior Mine Planning engineer to:

  • Produce the LOM plan and set the future mining strategy for the mine;
  • Develop and maintain the Mine Planning System, including all relevant standards;
  • Re-evaluate the mines reserves in accordance with the JORC code;
  •  Evaluate areas for continuous improvement.

About you

  • Degree in Mining Engineering;
  • Experience in underground operations, preferably with underground time complete;
  • Previous experience as a planning engineer or a motivated production engineer wanting to take the next step into planning;
  • ‘C’ class driving license.
