About the role
The role of the Senior Design Engineer is to approve designs, establish engineering requirements and provide engineering expertise with the overall design phase and installation of all Network Communications and Infrastructure on Major Rail Infrastructure Projects.
- Lead the design integration of network communications to suit/meet the contract requirements for the project.
- Liaising with project team, client and external stakeholders as necessary to identify and establish design requirements.
- Support team in developing, assessing and reviewing engineering solutions/specifications to achieve effective solutions.
- Co-ordinate engineering reviews, risk assessments and Management of Change processes with project design team, Rail Transport Operator (RTO) and any other relevant engineering disciplines/stakeholders.
About You
- Tertiary Engineer Qualified.
- Engineering Design Fundamentals (drawing review, change management)
- Minimum 10 years industry experience (Experienced gained in the Rail, Automotive, Defence, Avionics or any other safety critical environment).
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
