Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will provide effective Geotechnical Engineer services within our Technical Services team. Working closely with the Appointed Geotechnical Specialist to maintain the geotechnical hazard management plan including mine design reviews, slope stability analysis and compliance to design. You will also ensure an effective framework of design and continuous improvement is in place to assist in the development and improvement of a healthy, safe and productive environment.

You will be primarily responsible for providing on site geotechnical support to Rolleston Open-cut mining operations and provide additional geological support as required. The ability to perform in pit inspections, monitoring and reporting, as well as high-wall mapping & interpretation is essential to this role. Excellent communication skills, coupled with high initiative will ensure that you are able to liaise with the mine planning team and production personnel to support safe

The successful candidate will ideally be a proficient user of Vulcan and Rocscience software packages with a degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or demonstrated practical experience in a similar role. You will be highly motivated, have a strong work ethic and demonstrate safe work behaviour.
