JOB DESCRIPTION

The Security Architect position will be responsible for ensuring that Architectural governance, models and controls are in place to assure the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of BlueScope data.

The Security Architect position can be in either Wollongong, NSW or Melbourne, Victoria. It will encompass a diverse portfolio of work which will include projects, initiatives and ongoing BAU. More specifically:

  • Develop and maintain security architecture processes that enable BlueScope to develop and implement security solutions and capabilities that are clearly aligned with business, technology and threat drivers.
  • Develop and maintain security architecture artifacts (models, patterns, templates, standards and procedures) that can be used to leverage security capabilities in projects and operations.
  • Track developments and changes in the digital business and threat environments to ensure that these are adequately addressed in security strategy plans and architecture artifacts.

Conduct security and vulnerability assessments of:

  • systems, applications and infrastructure, hosted in both on-premises and cloud environments, as part of the overall risk management practice of BlueScope.
  •  third party vendors who provide services to BlueScope
  • Provide security consulting and planning advice to business stakeholders and projects.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Security Architect who understands the complexities of a large, international organisation. You will need to acquire a deep understanding of our environment and ensure we have proper frameworks, process and controls in place to ensure our information security risks are adequately identified and addressed.

The position will require you to:

  • Work in an application rich environment with many interdependencies.
  • Bring your expertise in security architecture to support a strategy which is:
    • Modernising legacy business applications leveraging public cloud and leading SaaS solutions;
    • Investing in big data and analytics practices to drive actionable business insight;
    • Implementing modern networking technologies;
    • Adopting a hybrid infrastructure platform;
    • Evolving a modern workplace solution built around industry leading technologies and flexible work practices; and
    • Evolving Security and Identity capabilities to support the shifts occurring within and outside of the organisation.
  • Work on projects and support operations where required.
  • Implement and oversee strong IDAM principals and processes.
  • Support a significant program of security initiatives.
  • Ensure thorough architecture documentation is captured to support knowledge management and as in input into the broader Enterprise Architecture.

You will need to have a demonstrated Security Architecture background in complex, global environments. We are seeking specific strengths in this role. The ability to think big picture and globally is essential. We are looking for:

  • Experience across information security and risk management.
  • Good working knowledge of current information security risks and trends.
  • Solid understanding of identify and access principles and solutions (i.e. multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management or related technologies.
  • Experience in Network level security architecture.
  • Experience with security practices in supporting leading aaS Cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of security protocols, authentication and authorisation.
  • 10 years’ experience in a security architecture capacity.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, business acumen and a commercial mindset is a must, as are suitable tertiary qualifications. Additional security related certification will be beneficial. This position can be in either Mt Waverley, Vic or Port Kembla, NSW.
