Core Talent is a boutique agency who work across many divisions within the construction industry. Working strongly with a number of clients within Local Government we have a fantastic opportunity with a leading council for a Construction & Civil Maintenance Manager to join their growing team.

Your main responsible will be coordinating, managing and delivering the maintenance and construction of capital and maintenance programs relating to all Council civil assets such as footpaths, retaining walls, kerb and gutter, concrete roads, driveways, storm water/drainage.

Provide efficient and effective record keeping, contract administration, contractor management, project planning and management, staff supervision and management of Council's civil construction and maintenance teams.

Maintain a high standard of workmanship, safety and environmental protection in all works under your control while working within budget constraints and in accordance with Council policies and guidelines.

Plan, set out, supervise, cost control and risk assess civil construction maintenance jobs along with continued review of work output and quality as well as regular safety audits. Assist in the development of strategies and plans for the management of Council's assets including administrating Council's Asset Management System (Assetic).

Preparation of the annual operational civil maintenance works budgets and contributing to the preparation of the annual and long term ten (10) year capital works budgets.

1. Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or other similar qualification.
2. Significant experience in the project management of multi-faceted civil works projects, including project definition and cost planning.
3. Demonstrated experience in contract administration, with specific experience in preparation and use of contract documentation for multi-faceted civil infrastructure projects.
4. Demonstrated supervision and leadership skills of both in-house staff and contractors.
5. Demonstrated ability to be able to use sound judgement and make on site decisions in order to resolve immediate construction and maintenance issues.
6. Demonstrated ability in the use of PC applications including databases, spreadsheets, word processing and project management tools such as Microsoft project.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, working alone or as part of a team.
8. Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
9. Demonstrate a strong customer service focus.
10. Highly developed time management and organisational skills.
11. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills.
12. SafeWork NSW accredited Work Health and Safety (WH&S) General Induction for Construction Work in NSW.
13. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Work Health & Safety (WH&S) and Cultural Diversity principles.
14. Demonstrated understanding and use of Asset Management Software (Assetic)
15. Demonstrated sound understanding and experience in Local Government Procurement of Materials and Services for Civil Infrastructure works.
16. Current NSW Class C Driver's licence

1. Certified in preparation and auditing of Traffic Control Plans
2. Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training
3. MR Licence and work certificates
4. Demonstrated understanding of and implementation of mobile solutions to streamline Civil Construction Activities.
