About the role
The Senior Asset Maintenance Engineer will lead and coordinate the Asset Maintenance Team, incorporating the asset protection, asset inspection and engineering works functions. The position will oversee the existing team, and develop a positive and inclusive culture, coordinate the footpath and kerb & channel replacement programs, and undertake thorough OHS audits.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, proactive, driven and innovative and engage in effective interaction and networking for the provision of engineering advice at various levels within Council and external to Council. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of asset maintenance projects, be able to adapt skills to address project specific needs and have sound technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, well-developed budget management skills, solid time management and organisational skills.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualified in engineering or other relevant field.
- A highly experienced professional with specialist skills, knowledge and sound experience in the provision of high quality engineering services relevant to asset maintenance and engineering.
- Excellent communicator with demonstrated ability to prepare succinct written reports.
- Highly developed professional with interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external management, staff, and the community.
- A strong collaborator who adds value to the organisation with proven ability to maintain relationships with other stakeholders.
- A proactive professional who is able to manage a dynamic workload and establish own work priorities and practices.
