JOB DESCRIPTION

We are in the search of a multi-skilled tradesperson with experience in aluminium work. The role will include manufacturing and welding of Norweld tray and canopy products. Norweld are focussed on providing the very best employee experience with benefits such as 4 day work weeks and monthly employee appreciation events. This is for an immediate start, full time and based in our Cairns manufacturing location.


Weekly Tasks

  • Liaise with cell leader to discuss job progress and urgent jobs needed
  • Work to the schedule to ensure everything is on track- manage time to ensure targets met- Notify cell leader if daily targets will not be met. 
  • Complete visual quality checks on all parts and components. Assist with spot checks on deburred, folded and welded parts prior to completion of job-ready for visual checks with Cell Leader.
  • Relay issues to cell leader and come up with ways to reduce issues with quality or productivity.
  • Complete feedback forms as needed on designs and procedures.
  • Complete ITP’s sheets as required on jobs.
  • Assist with the organization of the shed and report to cell leader if unsure 
  • Assist with consumables and hardware management, notify cell leader to ensure they are ordered for the division
  • Assist Cell Leader with the writing of procedures for all processes and job types- give feedback and make recommendations to existing procedures
  • Assist with area cleanliness and maintenance of machines
  • Perform other duties as required such as deburring, marking out, folding and assembly if required by the cell leader
  • Log all rework and time on correct ERP Jobs
  • Assist in the supervision, monitoring and training of the apprentices (includes work experience)
  • Maintain machinery and report issues to Cell Leader and Operations Cell Leader. 
  • Perform basic M and R on machines and daily checks to ensure minimal downtime 


Weekly Tasks

  • Advise Cell Leader of any quality issues affecting production output 
  • Participate in team meetings to reflect on jobs done the previous week. Discuss the good and bad points.
  • Ensure productivity and utilization targets are met and hours are charge to correct jobs.


Monthly Tasks

  • Review monthly targets and set goals
  • Work with Cell Leader in the reduction of waste and rework
