About the role
The Department of Parliamentary Services is looking for an experienced Work Health and Safety professional to join our team. You'll be joining a workplace which deals with a diverse range of Work Health and Safety issues from an office environment to major construction projects in a heritage building.
You will oversee the Department of Parliamentary Services Work Health and Safety obligations and drive a culture which embraces work health and safety. You will also provide expert advice to the other Parliamentary Departments to support them in achieving positive WHS outcomes.
This role will be vital in the development and administration of Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures applied to a number of departments and covering various industries.

About you
You are passionate about Work Health and Safety and can identify and implement innovative solutions in a complex environment. You will possess strong communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills which you will use daily in building constructive relationships with a diverse range of internal stakeholders including Department Executives, Managers, employees and external bodies such as unions and WorkSafe Victoria.

You will require:
  • A tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety and substantial experience handling Work Health and Safety matters in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated experience incorporating innovative technology and contemporary practice to WHS practices and programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide concise communications to all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of Work Health and Safety
