Tallangatta Meat Processors presents an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Maintenance Handyman. TMP have a long and proud history in the Australian Meat Industry. We are currently looking for a maintenance all rounder to join our small team in Tallangatta. This is an morning / daytime role with currently 30-38 hours per week, potential for more. You will be a valued team member, and will work in a fast-paced environment that has a focus on safety and well-being.
This position will suit someone looking for a long-term position with a progressive, busy and rapidly growing company. You will be responsible for ensuring the general maintenance requirements across the property are completed day-to-day.
Your responsibilities are:
- Support the maintenance and projects manager in a range of duties including repairs and maintenance
- Perform complete inspections of major plant and equipment
- Steel fabrication
- Plumbing
- Pneumatic systems and tools
- Small and large improvement projects
- Support department manager with their daily operational needs
- Understanding and commitment to OH&S
This is a diverse role, in a physically demanding environment. If you are able to work as part of a team as well as you can work unsupervised then we would love to meet you.
The right applicants will meet the following requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role is desired, however, we are willing to train the right candidates
- A solutions focused problem solver who thrives under pressure
- Trade experience of any kind is valuable (carpenter, heavy equipment operator, plumber, welder...)
- The ability to work unsupervised with goals
- Physically fit to perform required tasks
- High focus and attention to detail
- Reliable, committed, on time and positive work attitude
- Willing to undergo Q Fever Vaccination, or have completed Q Fever Vaccination
- Able to pass Drug & Alcohol test
