As the Level Crossing Removal Project continues to deliver a safer and more efficient train network, the Metro team involved in this large-scale project is expanding to respond to current and future works. The experience gained in this exciting, multi-disciplinary environment will be valuable to building your career in rail construction.This large-scale project will benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers by improving safety, reducing congestion and enabling more frequent train services.

Metro Trains Melbourne are seeking a suitably experienced Signalling Project Engineer to join the North WestProgram Alliance in the planning & delivery of upcoming Level Crossing Removal projects in the Packenham area.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Supporting all signalling activities across the program
  • Lead the detailed planning for specific project activities as assigned
  • Managing end to end engineering requirements within signalling scope of works
  • Manage all aspects of allocated projects in conjunction with relevant stakeholders and contractors to progress projects to implementation and commissioning
  • Manage the signalling design contractors information and drawings, including ensuring that a current drawing register is maintained and that the documentation is issued to all the relevant parties
  • Interface with project teams & internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify work practices , methods and activities that can be altered or improved

About You

  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Membership with the Institute of Railway Signal Engineers desirable
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary rail projects
  • Experience in signalling design activities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong & effective experience in engineering principles of planning , report preparation and scheduling
