The Opportunity
This position will see you take a lead technical role in driving Asset Management improvement program and improve whole of the organisation wide asset management awareness.

Providing technical leadership in managing Council’s infrastructure assets which includes major assets classes of;
  • Road assets
  • Stormwater assets
  • Building & Facility assets
  • Parks & Open Spaces assets

Reporting to the Coordinator City Asset & Capital program, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
  • Assist the development of Council’s Asset Management Policy and Strategic Asset Management Plan;
  • Research available data sources and determine: suitable asset useful life, consumption patterns, rate of deterioration, current replacement costs;
  • Coordinate the development of the Council’s annual state of asset reports;
  • Assist in the development of sustainable service plans by balancing risk, life cycle cost and affordability;
  • Develop technical specifications, manage procurement process and project manage asset information and condition data capture programs;
  • Ensure that asset information, valuation parameters, maintenance records and asset conditions are current and oversee regular updates into AMIS to support objective decision making; and
  • Manage and operate pavement management systems and strategic asset management software to support Capital Work programming and financial planning.


About You

To be considered for this position, you will possess the following:
  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering with minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role;
  • Experience in developing service levels/interventions and treatment options to optimize capital investment and maintenance spending decisions;
  • Experience of developing/reviewing infrastructure asset management plans;
  • Experience of database maintenance, predictive modelling and development of long-term capital work program;
  • Ability to develop annual Capital Work program with the consultation of key stake holders and reviewing annual capital bids for Council budget submissions; and
  • Project management of Council wide data/condition capture surveys.
