The opportunity

We are seeking a talented Service Engineer - Mechanical Engineering to support a world class fleet of air combat and electronic attack aircraft, the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler. As a key member of our Aerospace Engineering and Production Capability, you will support the In-service sustainment program which is essential in ensuring continuing airworthiness of the aircrafts. The role is based in RAAF Base Amberley, QLD.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for execution of the Continuing Airworthiness Management activities through the different phases of the aircraft life cycle and operation.
  • Sustaining safe, high tempo flight operations through engineering activities including technical analysis, flight safety review, investigations, modifications and repairs.
  • Monitor and manage incoming Technical Information to assess its relevance and importance to the aircraft product. Provide regular status information on engineering tasks.
  • Oversight and implementation of routine Aircraft Maintenance activities and provide recommendations for Australian Defence Force Configuration Role and Environment (CRE).
  • Engaging effectively with team members, leaders and technical representatives including Air Force and United States Navy personnel.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical from nationally accredited program. (RPEQ desirable).
  • Demonstrable experience in aircraft mechanical systems troubleshooting, repairs or design including engineering support to in-service aircraft operations.
  • Demonstrable active knowledge working within a regulated environment (civil or military aviation)
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance (NV1).
