JOB DESCRIPTION

Here at ParkerSteel we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our busy Maintenance team at our Canterbury site. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of between £35,000 to £40,000 dependent on skills and experience.

Hours: This role will be working on a pattern of 4 days on/4 days off of 12 hour shifts including nights.

The Responsibilities As Our Shift Maintenance Engineer Include

The purpose of this role is to carry out planned preventative and emergency breakdown maintenance on a wide and diverse range of machinery which includes, overhead cranes, a shot blast and paint line, through to CNC controlled saws, drills, lasers and water jet machines. This role will be working on a pattern of 4 days on/4 days off, of 12-hour shifts including nights.

What are we looking for in our Shift Maintenance Engineer?

Essential Experience/Skills
  • Electrical/ mechanical experience with certification - ideally apprentice served
  • Strong HSE awareness
  • Self-disciplined and self-motivated
  • Ability to communicate clearly- both verbally and written
  • Good decision-making skills against priorities
  • Systematic fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work at Height
  • Team player
  • Good administrative and organisational skills including basic IT
Desirable Experience/skills
  • Experience of fault finding on electrical, and PLC systems
  • Knowledge of inverter drives, switches and sensors
  • Knowledge/experience of processing machines
  • Experience of repairs to Mobile Plant, cranes and MEWPS
  • Turning, milling and light fabrication skills including basic welding
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and pneumatic system including fault identification and rectification
  • Knowledge of roller and chain drive systems
  • Experience of completing planned maintenance activities
