Development & Drainage Engineer

An opportunity exists for a professional, energetic and highly motivated person to fill the very important role of Development & Drainage Engineer at Council.

The primary purpose of the position is to:

  • Make a significant contribution to Leeton being ‘open for business’ by providing quality, comprehensive and timely development engineering strategies, plans and services that are customer focussed while ensuring development outcomes are fit for purpose and implemented to appropriate standards and water and wastewater development levies are appropriately raised, applied and reported.
  • Lead Council’s stormwater planning, implementation and management while ensuring stormwater management charges or contributions are appropriately raised, applied and reported.
  • Lead Council’s floodplain risk management planning and reporting in accordance with NSW statutory guidelines.

The successful applicant will possess a well-developed problem-solving ability and 
demonstrate their excellent interpersonal skills with the general public and fellow employees. A Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of four (4) years relevant experience in Local Government is essential. They must possess a high level of computer literacy in the use of a variety of software applications including MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, GIS, flood modelling software, web-based products and information management systems.

Salary and Conditions: A salary of $72,467.20 - $85,612.80 pa plus superannuation 
and allowances will be offered (depending on qualifications and experience). This permanent position is 35 hours per week with a monthly rostered day off.

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) 
Award. Prior to commencement the successful applicant will be required to undergo Drug and Alcohol screening and a Fitness for Work Check.
