This role is a temporary role for 6 months. To be considered for this position applicants must possess:

- a four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Environment/Electrical) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.

- registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).

- experience in noise assessment, modelling, measurement and management

Accountabilities include:

- Contribute to Transport and Main Roads capability in providing technical and operational focused advice to departmental regions, consultants and administrators in the application of policies, processes, practices and standards for the construction and operation of the transport network.

- Undertake the research, development, implementation and monitoring of departmental policies, manuals, technical standards and processes.

- Assist in the development of Transport and Main Roads and Whole of Government policies, regulations, standards and procedures.

- Consult, and liaise with external and internal specialist groups, including other business areas of the department, to drive change initiatives introduced by the Noise team.

- Maintain effective working relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

- Undertake peer reviews and contribute to the delivery of major complex planning and design projects undertaken by Transport and Main Roads, other agencies and consultants.

- Undertake monitoring, measurement and assessment to influence planning and design projects and achieve a balanced, fit for purpose outcome.

- Assist with technology transfer activities and other project related tasks as determined by the Principal Engineer (Noise & Air).
