The Role

The PTA is seeking qualified civil engineers at Level 5 and Level 6 to provide civil engineering support to the Network and Infrastructure Division, including various METRONET and major infrastructure projects during the planning, design and delivery phases. We have a range of engineering positions to fill on a permanent, full time basis.

Our Civil Engineers (Level 5) provide support and assistance to the branch, contributing to the operational performance and ensuring the reliability of the assets across the network. You will be assisting in various functions across the Division including maintenance, third party service providers and civil engineering support for a range of projects.

The Senior Civil Engineer (Level 6) provides engineering support and expertise to the Division’s assets and the PTA network. These positions need people with strong leadership who can guide and mentor junior staff to reach agreed outcomes as well as the ability to effectively manage resources and work programs.

Both roles require the successful applicants to be experienced in planning, design and delivery of maintenance and construction works in an operational asset intensive environment. All applicants are also required to have an engineering degree, preferably in Civil Engineering and be eligible to satisfy professional membership to Engineers Australia. You will also need to have good communication and problem solving skills as well as the ability to organise your work to meet agreed targets.

If you have a passion for rail and want to further your career as a Civil Engineer, please follow the instructions below on how to apply.

This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which permanent full time appointments will be made within the next 12 months. Offers may be made on a permanent or fixed term basis with possible extensions and/or permanency.
