About the Company

This company is a prominent civil contracting business and a major force in Western Australia’s civil construction sector. One of their specialist areas of expertise is the construction of transport infrastructure for Main Roads WA. They have secured a new MRWA project recently and require a resourceful SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER to join their experienced team ASAP!

About the Role

In the capacity of SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER you will take ownership of a large section of a WA road construction project in a gorgeous coastal town in Western Australia. You will be working closely with an experienced team of site construction professionals and blue collar staff, guiding junior engineers, and liaising with MRWA contacts. You will be commercially savvy to manage, track and report on project costs, and contractually astute with strong understanding of AS2124 standards, as well as QA delivery requirements for MRWA contracts. You will be encouraged to apply your civil engineering expertise and past experience to influence project outcomes through key decision making. You will provide guidance to subcontractors as well as technical support to the construction team and Project Manager. On offer will be a terrific remuneration package of up to CIRCA $230K, and a start ASAP pending satisfactory pre-mobilization requirements.

Skills, Qualifications and Other Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
• 5-8+ years’ of civil construction experience as Project Engineer/SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER for civil contractors in Western Australia
• Previous experience on full MRWA road construction projects as SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER including bulk earthworks, drainage and surfacing is essential
• Strong contractual and commercial acumen
• Willingness and ability to undertake 2/1 FIFO now, and possible FIFO or DIDO rosters (ex-Perth only) on future projects 
• Natural leadership skills and ability to manage client interface with MRWA
• WA based with existing rights to work in Australia
• Available within 4 weeks’ notice period
• Able to furnish 2 favorable references from the last 5 years
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and DAS testing
• Interstate candidates need not apply due to current COVID border restrictions
