A unique and challenging opportunity exists with a medium sized, Sydney based structural, mechanical, and piping contractor. We service the Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical, Power, Mining & Minerals Processing, and heavy industrial sectors. We seek a qualified and experienced estimator/engineer to complement our team. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to work within team environment and be able to liaise and support the workshop manager and on-site supervisory teams.


  • Strong technical in-depth in Electrical manufacturing process in Piping and Instrumentation Industry
  • Strong experience using 3D Piping Design and P & ID System.
  • Strong adherence of project scope and develop schedules for design and drafting work.
  • Possessing good organizational skills to promote interdisciplinary communication on Project.
  • Ability to Interpret electrical and Instrumentation P & ID’s to prepare tender submission.
  • Able to develop and maintain all schedule for electrical equipment installed in the workshop and at site for projects.
  • Able to manage and improve the steel-fabrication and manufacturing capability for Intercon Engineering.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage individuals to attain quality, cost, and schedule objectives
  • Ability to forward plan and produce schedule frameworks for superintendents and supervisors.
  • General knowledge of trade practice and construction methods.
  • Fundamental knowledge of project management and coordination with the project manager.
  • Ability to communicate with Site supervisor and field staff for project coordination and implementation of site.
  • Must have a Current NSW Driver’s License (C Class) as minimum

You will also possess the following:

  • A degree qualification in electrical engineering as minimum.
  • Minimum Certificate IV in work health and safety.
  • Sound technical and analytical capability.
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in workplace health and safety and in Piping and Instrumentation.
  • Design, tender, supply, construction and commissioning, and project management is also desirable.

The role will be Sydney based (western suburbs). The company is well positioned for growth, maintaining high regard for quality and customer service. A remuneration package will be offered to reflect the experience and expertise of the candidate, contract arrangements will be considered if the candidate has the necessary commercial structures in place.
