What We Are Looking For

The rapidly growing CAE team provides advanced engineering simulation and optimisation expertise to multiple vehicle programs, from Land121 (Logistics Vehicles & Mission Modules) to Land 400 Phase 2 (Boxer 8 wheeled armoured reconnaissance), Land 400 Phase 3 (Lynx tracked armoured personnel carrier) and other cutting edge programs, both local and international.

The team is constantly innovating new capabilities to bring to bear on complex, challenging tasks, using a variety of leading engineering CAE tools.

About The Role

The Senior CAE Engineer is responsible for conducting structural analysis supporting RDA’s development and evaluation programs. The position requires considerable experience in using finite element modelling techniques to guide and verify designs, knowledge of and engagement in physical test operations, correlation to test, and final reporting.

In collaboration with the CAE Manager the role is focused on successful execution of military vehicle and module development programs with an emphasis on progressive development of RDA’s Finite Element Analysis capabilities.

As the Senior CAE Engineer you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Structural Finite Element Analysis
  • Mechanical Testing and Analysis
  • Test Support
  • RDA FEA Capability

What Qualifications You Should Have
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Demonstrated experience in a Structural Finite Element Analysis position;
  • Experience in structural testing, fatigue analysis, explicit structural analysis, structural optimisation and multiple FEA codes;
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication, consultation and negotiation skills;
  • Be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment screening (NV1 required); and
  • An ability to travel internationally and interstate when and if required.
