About the role

Searson Buck are searching for an experienced Technical Lead Engineer - Civil/Structural to support our client with their current and upcoming capital projects in the North and North West of Tasmania.

As the Technical Lead Engineer - Civil/Structural, you will be reporting to the Engineering Manager while working closely with the Portfolio Manager, Project Manager and General Managers in delivering the concept design, project budget, timelines. You will also be required to interface with key external stakeholders for project updates, permits, etc.

Key Responsibility

• Preparing concept, preliminary and detailed design
• Interpret technical documents and drawings
• Review technical specification and assist with project estimation
• Attending meetings and briefings, communicate with the engineering team where required or directed

Internal Relationships

• Engineering team
• Portfolio manager, General Managers, and other management teams

External Relationships

• Local Councils
• External engineer (i.e., structural engineer, port engineer, lead engineer, contractors, or site engineer/technicians)

Key Selection Criteria

• Tertiary Qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Strong experience in civil and structural design (concept, preliminary, detailed design)
• Experience in using MS Projects or similar Project Management software is desirable
• A creative and problem solver oriented mindset
• Good organisational skills, time management skills, and ability to work to project timeframes.
• Excellent communication skills
• Valid working visa if you do not hold a Permanent Residency or Citizenship
• Valid driver's licence
