Exciting opportunity available for a Senior Landscape Officer (band 6) in Melbourne's South East.

Your new role
Your position will be to assess landscape construction plans ensuring all landscape proposals meet acceptable standards of design and construct-ability in accordance with Council policies, standards and planning permit requirements.
Key responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to;
- Process landscape planning referrals/applications in accordance with state and local legislation and Council policies and strategies, and planning permit conditions within the required timelines.
- Evaluate, review and approve large scale subdivision landscape master plans for compliance with Council policies and requirements, Planning Permit Conditions and relevant Precinct Structure Plans and Development Plans, with regard to design outcomes and species suitability and availability
- Provide advice and assistance to the Planning Team in relation to landscape related design and compliance matters.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will demonstrate and be able to provide the following:
- National Criminal History Check
- Working with Children Check
- Preferred degree in Landscape Architecture or related field and extensive experience in the landscape design, arboriculture and/or horticulture field.
- Knowledge and experience in the Planning Scheme and State and Local Government frameworks.
- Experience with reading and interpreting architectural plans.
- Knowledge and experience in assessing and approving landscape detail design documentation packages experience and understanding of public realm landscape design.
What you'll get in return
You will earn an hourly rate of $39 - $59 per hour + super (dependent on experience), with the potential for the contract to be extended beyond 3 months.
