The Company/Role:


You'll be working for one of Australia's most well-known and lvoed retail brands who are building a brand new engineering team to develop and operate its digital platforms. Key to the success of this new team will be its ability to deliver change quickly and with quality, through having a strong foundational architecture, frameworks and tooling in place.


The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a key part in helping to shape and build the DevSecOps landscape, through CI/CD pipelines and tooling, environment automation, application security, monitoring, adopting better ways of working and mentoring more junior team members.


Responsibilities:


You will be joining their friendly team based in Melbourne and will be reporting into the DevOps Lead.


  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines are secure, isolated and in place to facilitate automated build, test and deploy of all components of the Production stack.
  • Ensure that the various deployment strategies including Blue-Green, Canary, Feature Toggle are supported for all components of the Production Stack.
  • Incorporate tooling into pipelines to vet code quality, security, performance and functional behaviour of committed change.
  • Enable reporting and dashboards to keep teams and stakeholders apprised of end-to-end health and status of the delivery pipeline, all environments, production systems and the broader ecosystem.
  • Full automation of environment provisioning through Infrastructure as Code
  • Apply comprehensive monitoring and alerting throughout the entire Production stack and across agreed pre-Production components.
  • Build and maintain agreed operational tooling to enable application and cloud performance management, log aggregation and analysis, incident response, data visualisation and cloud cost analytics.
  • Ensure that production and pre-production environments are secured.
  • Ensure that technical standards and practices associated with CI/CD pipeline and cloud technologies are clearly articulated and well socialised throughout the broader Digital function.


Core Skills/Knowledge


  • Experience designing, building and managing CI/CD pipelines that are performant, secure and scalable.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining cloud-based environments particularly in Azure.
  • Experience implementing a configuration management system (e.g. Ansible) and a containerization capability (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • 5+ years Software development experience.
  • Experience with OOP and exceptional scripting skills (Powershell and Bash).
  • Experience working in both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience delivering technology change within a product organisation.
  • Experience supporting a security program incl. data governance, AppSec, cloud and WAF.
