Position Vacant – CARPENTER

The employer, Balanced Earth, is a progressive team of builders and designers, focused on sustainable and bespoke builds. To meet the demands of business growth, a full-time permanent position for an additional Carpenter has opened.

The Carpenter is responsible for all aspects of construction, in liaison with management, marketing and accounting team members. Skills in budgeting and project managing, as well as the ability to work fast in a team under pressure are necessary for the position.

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 p.a.

Essential employment experience:

At least three years of relevant work experience as a qualified tradesperson is essential and experience must include both building and design, with an emphasis on residential and sustainable construction.

Essential qualifications:

Successful completion of an apprenticeship and trade certificate in Carpentry is essential.

Additional practical skills and knowledge:

• cutting materials, and assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts
• erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying trueness of structures
• nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames
• assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install
• installation of doors and windows
• construction of decking
• occasional trade management
• instructing apprentices
