TILER WANTED FOR HOUSING MAINTENANCE WORK

Position: WALL AND FLOOR TILER

As a testament to our great team, service capability & commitment to safety, we are experiencing strong business growth. To support this growth our maintenance division are currently seeking a full time tiling technician.

To be considered for this role, successful applicants must be able to prove at least 5 years of work experience in the same role, attributes a genuine commitment to safety, a strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment, strong organisational and communication skills, high attention to detail and record keeping and commitment and dedication to performing high quality work.

The ideal candidate is required to perform the following day-to-day duties:

· Calculate the quantity of materials needed for the job by taking surface measurements and / or by reading / interpreting job specifications or drawings

· Select and use appropriate materials, tools and equipment

· Carry out site inspections

· Determine material quantity requirements, conformity to requirements and compatibility with surface material, preparation and waterproofing installation

· Apply appropriate levelling techniques (floor / wall screeding etc)

· Set out tiling jobs - Handle wall and floor tiling materials; use wall and floor tiling tools and equipment; prepare surfaces for tiling application; fix floor / wall tiles; repair wall / floor tiles;

· Carry out mosaic tiling; tile curved surfaces; apply waterproofing processes to internal wet areas to Australian Standards;

· Carry out decorative tiling and other related tasks and activities

· Grouting tiles and remove the excess

· Prioritises and sequences tasks & apply time management skills to ensure work is completed to time requirements

· Wash equipment and clean work areas

· Mentor apprentices as required; and

· Perform supervision and project management as required

The following qualifications & certifications are required:

- Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling

- C Class Manual Drivers Licence

- White Card

- Police Clearance

Additional qualifications, certifications & skills that will be looked at favourably are:

- Working at Heights Training

- First Aid

- High Risk Work (EWP / Boom Lift)

- Confined Spaces

Vehicle supplied, however the ideal candidate will provide their own tools.

All candidates must supply a valid National Police Clearance if successful to interview stage.
