JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated Driver Assistance Technology Engineer for a contract role within the Product Development team based in Melbourne.
In this role you will be working in a dynamic global environment managing the design and development of driver assistance technologies such as cameras, ultrasonic sensors, radars and restraints modules. Working to develop designs to meet system and vehicle attribute targets, you will be part of a team that is responsible for the design and release selection of suppliers, development of program work plans, and completion of gateway deliverables to maintain program costs and timing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead supplier sourcing, bill of material and drawing release of cameras, sensors, radars and modules into the vehicle, ensure it meets customer requirements
* Develop supplier workplan, making sure program deliverables are being met on time
* Lead cross-functional meetings to deliver sourcing, cost, weight, packaging requirements for the components
* Perform quality reviews through Failure Mode Analysis to ensure robustness
Required Skills & Knowledge:
* Bachelor degree in Engineering or in a related field
* Minimum 3 years' relevant industry experience
* Sound knowledge of engineering processes and parts release
* Demonstrated track record of developing and delivering electrical or electronic automotive modules, systems and components
* Strong CAD essential
* MS Office (Excel & Powerpoint) proficient.
* Able to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and the internal teams.
* Excellent interpersonal, persuasive and negotiating skills.
* Organised, independent, hands-on, can-do attitude and able to work with minimal supervision.
* Strong commitment to high levels of attention to detail.
* A background in Automotive would be preferred.
* Capability to translate complex specifications into actionable items
