As an Associate Site Reliability Engineer, you will work with a talented SRE team in our Digital Health Technologies Product development group. The ideal candidate will be a smart, motivated individual seeking an opportunity to work on large scale / high volume web applications writing code that is optimized for high performance, high availability, and scalability.

Let's Talk Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, implementation, and deployment of web applications, back-end services, and enterprise solutions using various development technologies and platforms.
  • Assist in providing incident management, change management, application support, monitoring, and Tier 2 support as part of the full cycle team responsibilities.
  • Implement solutions and troubleshoot software failures at the small component level.
  • Collaborate day to day with a small team of software developers.
  • Pair with senior developers to design software solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Write clear, well-commented, and easy to understand code.
  • Create and review design specifications.
  • Communicates clearly and timely when their work hits roadblocks or risks that need to be managed.
  • Write automated tests.
  • Follow secure development guidelines.
  • Following coding standards and best practices.
  • Be part of an on-call support rotation.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Let's Talk Qualifications and Experience

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Programming or equivalent experience.
  • Good experience in Java & Python is highly desirable.
  • Experience with AWS (ECS, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, EC2) is preferable.
  • Good to have: CI/CD experience.
  • Working experience in:
    • Java Enterprise Edition (JEE), Spring, Jetty/Tomcat, Junit/JMeter, Angular, or equivalent JavaScript framework, Apache, GNU/Linux (Bash)
    • Databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong object oriented design and programming skills.
  • Strong self-motivation, attention to detail, and awareness to ask questions when needed. We're looking for a team player who will complement the team.
