We are seeking an ambitious senior civil engineer to manage the civil team for our outstanding Sydney-based client.

As the senior engineer of the team you will manage the discipline and engineers that make up the group. You will have strong involvement in the delivery of high-profile projects across Sydney from concept to completion. You will have an active engagement with clients and stakeholders and responsibility to represent the organisation in meetings and presentations.

As well as a strong technical track record, we are looking for a candidate that can bring a colourful personality and contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of the group. We hope that the successful candidate will be engaging and personable, and have the ability to mentor and inspire the engineers around them. 

From a technical point of view we are looking for a candidate with well rounded civil engineering experience. Our client has a diverse project portfolio and the ideal candidate should have the capabilities to work on roads & highways, storm water design, pavements, subdivisions, public domain areas and civil support for building/structural projects. More details are outlined below. 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • (Minimum) Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
  • Membership with Engineers Australia as CPEng and NER is highly desirable 
  • (minimum) 7+ years' experience as a Civil Engineer 
  • Extensive experience within a consulting environment 
  • Good understanding of civil/structural design principles and their application to engineering design and construction
  • Good understanding of material behaviour, techniques and methods
  • Good understanding of Australian Building Codes and Standards and their practical application
  • Advanced understanding of the latest industry practices, proprietary products, materials and construction techniques, and their application
  • Experience in developing complex analysis models and preparing calculations with high precision and accuracy
  • Experience producing technical reports and developing concepts that add value to a project
  • Advanced proficiency using of Civil 3D or 12D software, and other relevant software including DRAINS, XP-RAFTS, MUSIC, HEC-RAS, Swept Path Analysis (e.g. AutoTURN), CIRCLY, AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience in civil design works for urban development including building projects, subdivision, roads, pavements and public domain areas
  • Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, water quality modelling, design of minor and major drainage systems, design of OSD systems and WSUD strategy development
