The Opportunity

Due to anticipated growth, we are currently looking to engage a Fire Engineer to join our Melbourne team.

Our large, inclusive and dynamic National Fire Engineering team, housed within our 900+ person Property and Buildings group, is industry-leading on a national scale with many long-tenure, key employees who have developed excellent relationships with highly sought-after clients. The new team member will work in the Melbourne as well as the broader national team on local Australian and international projects.

A Typical Day For You

  • Supporting the delivery of fire engineering projects from inception through to delivery in support of technical and commercial standards;
  • Contributing toward the delivery of engineering and project work within time and cost budgets;
  • Utilising code consultancy, risk assessment and fire, smoke and egress modelling skills;
  • Assisting in the support of junior engineers with their technical works across fire engineering briefs, reports and modelling;
  • Engaging with clients for small/medium projects;
  • Communicating effectively with all external and internal stakeholders, and;
  • Working within a multidisciplinary design team.

What We'll Love About You
  • Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Science or equivalent industry experience;
  • Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters in Fire Safety Engineering (desirable);
  • 3 to 6+ years’ relevant consulting experience on fire safety engineering projects from a range of sectors;
  • Moderate-to-strong working knowledge of technical requirements on projects for code consultancy, risk assessments and fire, smoke and egress modelling;
  • Building capability to support clients and liaise with local authorities/fire brigade, surveyors, multidisciplinary consultants and other stakeholders to efficiently deliver projects, and;
  • Capacity to support the training and mentoring of entry level engineers across technical aspects.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
