We are currently seeking a Senior Completions Engineer to work within the Project Controls Team across the Metro Level Crossing Removal Team (MLXRT) portfolio. This is a large-scale project that will benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers by improving safety, reducing congestion and enabling more frequent train services.

The role: 

Reporting directly the MLXRT Completions Manager, in this role you will be responsible for the management of the Completions engineering process, ensuring the provision of effective and timely review services of drawings submitted by the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) Alliances and Metro Tunnel Project. 

This is a full-time permanent role, based in Melbourne’s CBD. 

Accountabilities:

• Liaison and coordination of design related matters with members of the LXRP and MTP Packages, as well as with other necessary internal MTM Departments.
• Work with the Completions Manager, Design Review Managers and Document Controllers to ensure timely review of design packages, and Requests for Information (RFI).
• Work with the Completions Administrators to ensure timely submission of Assets into Ellipse/PASS. Ensure that MTM’s SMS (including all processes and procedures) is adhered to and assurance evidence is prepared and maintained as required under the Rail Safety National Law.
• Undertake quality and performance analysis and prepare status reports using Excel based on data from Team Binder, project Design Lot Registers, LXRP programs and forecast information, and Comment Review Sheets.
• Work with the Project Officer to prepare and manage budgets for design reviews, preparing regular financial status reports.
• Ensure MTM design and Dept. of Transport drafting standards are maintained and conform to applicable safety, reliability and quality standards.

Desired qualifications, skills and experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
• Experience in Project, Design and/or Quality Management.
• Experience on the Melbourne metropolitan rail system will be considered favourably. 
• Ability to collect, analyse data, write and present reports. 
• Ability to use Team Binder, SharePoint and good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (in particular Excel and Project).
• Ability to communicate professionally with staff at all levels and negotiate preferred outcomes.
• Ability to identify and interpret the relevant acts, regulations and standards that are applicable to rail related projects.
• Ability to cope with competing demands and a significant volume of work meeting deadlines and deliverables.
• Ability to review cost estimates, budgets, specifications, contracts and tender processes.
