About the Role...

We are currently seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our engineering department on a full-time basis located in Lonsdale SA. Reporting to the Product Manager- Climate Wizard your role will encompass managing the process of specifying, designing, developing, documenting, and introducing controls technology for Climate Wizard and other commercial HVAC products. This role will be instrumental in delivering Seeley’s vision of improving the quality of Seeley’s existing and new products as it strives to provide customers with the most innovative and highest quality products at competitive prices.

About the person…

We require a professionally qualified Electrical/Electronic Engineer or a similar related engineering discipline with proven experience in HVAC Building Management Systems and Controllers (BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, Zigbee). Experience with Schneider Ecostruxure Machine Expert PLC software, preferably in the HVAC industry would be beneficial and so would the knowledge of MODBUS RTU networks and associated hardware. You will have sound technical knowledge to problem solve and apply your skills in a practical hands-on way in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement controls systems for new products including documenting specifications, generating software, electrical schematics, BOM’s, drawing and other documentation for control systems.
  • Generate and implement Software testing documentation and procedures.
  • Ensure new products meet safety & regulatory standards as well as technical specifications, reliability requirements and production cost targets.
  • Manage and support engineering production issues related to control systems to ensure efficient production of existing products.
  • Manage and resolve controls related warranty and field failure issues and support service teams.
  • Support Sales and Marketing teams with appropriate technical data as required.
  • Research and develop new control technologies such as internet connectivity, remote monitoring, smart control systems, machine Learning, advanced user interfaces and system integration solutions.
  • Maintain appropriate design files and records as specified by the Quality System.
  • Review product costs and implement cost reduction initiatives where applicable.

You will need excellent time and project management skills together with effective written and verbal communication skills. Working for a dynamic manufacturing business, flexibility will be very important, as priorities can change rapidly, often to maintain production requirements. Working collectively and collaboratively with production, engineering and service personnel is key.
