The role of Building Assistant requires a highly motivated, hands on person who has the technical capability and skill to assist in the construction of various stages of each project, if you are keen to work, have a can do attitude, energetic & positive this is the role for you.

Duties include

• Assisting the builder with carpentry works including framing, Fixing Lock up and joinery repairs

• Assisting with landscape retaining walls, planter boxes and site maintenance

• Conducting maintenance of homes this may include works such as touch up painting, plastering and carpentry

• Cleaning and tidying construction sites in preparation for the next stage of construction

• Ensuring all works completed comply with the Building Code Australia Site supervision
• Overseeing the works by trades on site and reporting to the site supervisor? Providing adhoc assistance to other trades if required
• Purchasing and delivering materials to site
• Ensuring the site is accessible to trades
• Induct trades onsite Quality Control
• Overseeing work completed by other trades. This is to include the accuracy according to the plans and specifications
• Complying to the companies OHS policies
• Overseeing other trades and ensuring compliance
• Reporting hazards or potentials issues/concerns

Reporting Relationships:

• The candidate is required to report to the Director

Education and experience

• Minimum Cert IV in Building & Construction
• Must have at least 3 years experience
• Must have a valid Australian drivers license
• Must have a basic knowledge of using hand tools and power tools

Part-time hours: 38 per week
