Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch, a full-service consultancy, is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Construction Services Engineer to join the Infrastructure group in our Transport and Logistics team in Melbourne.

Our knowledge of infrastructure includes aviation, highways and bridges, planning and advisory services, ports, rail and transit, tunnels, and water. Want to be part of the creation and construction of our cities? Then the infrastructure team is for you!

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams from tender through feasibility to detailed design
  • Provide support to business development and strategic initiatives, including preparation of proposals
  • Develop new and maintain existing client relationships
  • Deliver temporary works designs
  • Liaise with contractor clients to determine project requirements
  • Manage all key aspects of a project including cost, time, quality etc for multiple projects
  • Mentoring and development of junior engineers
  • Provide vision and leadership to team members

You will bring to the role:

  • A degree in Structural Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Extensive professional experience and solid experience in the design of temporary works for major infrastructure projects
  • Chartered Professional Engineer
  • RIW MTM role of Engineering Design – designer and checker.
  • Experience working for Tier 1 Contractor desirable
  • Project management and design team leadership skills are essential
  • Experience studying Design Briefs and preparing fee proposals
  • Knowledge in the design of atypical structures from first principles
  • Familiarity in construction sequencing and staged analysis
