About the role:
Isaac Regional Council (IRC) is seeking a highly motivated Planning Engineer to join its Water & Waste Directorate for a five (5) year fixed term full time contract, based in Moranbah.

This role reports to the Manager, Planning and Projects who is responsible for the development and delivery of the Water and Waste Directorate’s Capital Works Program. The Planning Engineer shall coordinate and develop infrastructure plans and capital projects to ensure minimal impact to day to day operations, whilst considering maintenance costs associated with new and existing infrastructure investments are minimised through assessment of full life-cycle costs. Integral part of the delivery of the capital program which contains on average $5-10M of projects.

About you:

We are seeking an enthusiastic planning engineer who excels in meeting the challenges of project management in a collaborative team environment.

  • A Strategic thinker who is a problem solver of complex issues.
  • You will have significant experience in water and sewer planning and engineering activities, including a strong background in risk assessment, and working with stakeholders to develop and deliver prudent and efficient outcomes to meet strategic business requirements which will compliment effective and pragmatic planning and management of projects using an industry recognised project management methodology.
  • Your excellent understanding of asset management principles shall ensure the effective development of capital solutions for water and wastewater reticulation networks and treatment schemes; as well as waste management facilities.
  • You will require a current C Class Open Australian Drivers Licence.
