About The Position
We are a dynamic landscape architectural team working within a multi-disciplinary internal design group contributing to the delivery of approximately $M of infrastructure upgrades annually. We are now seeking an additional Landscape Architect to join our team to help address the increasing list of public domain improvements we have on our program, as well as to contribute to the development application services we provide.
Responsibilities
Working within the Design and Technical Services group which includes civil, structural, and geotechnical engineers, architects, survey, and environmental strategy, key responsibilities of your role will be to
In this role you will enhance the city's aesthetic, environmental, and cultural values through high quality design and project management.
- Design and graphically present high quality, creative and functional design solutions for urban and natural areas within the city, including both large and small-scale sites
- Manage and deliver community supported masterplans for large scale public reserves and town centres, taking the lead in concept development, analysis, direct consultation, and masterplan design documentation’
- Deliver costed construction documentation packages to tight deadlines
- Provide expert design validation and quality control on construction sites
- Contribute to and implement controls and guidelines relevant to development on private land promoting a high standard of outcomes consistent with council's policies
- Prepare reports and submissions and represent Council at public meetings, prelodgement meetings and informal planning conferences
- Prepare and contribute to the preparation of strategic policies and design guidelines promoting design excellence in the city
- Project manage the design phase of multiple projects concurrently and deliver successfully to tight deadlines
The successful candidate will be a degree qualified Landscape Architect or recognition by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects as a Registered Landscape Architect based on qualifications and experience.
You will have extensive experience in the design and delivery of large and small scale creative public domain improvements, from initial concept sketches, and masterplan consultation documentation, to the delivery of final construction packages. You will also have a good understanding of the policy and legislation involved, and experience in landscape development control on private land.
Your CAD skills will be highly developed with a demonstrated ability to produce graphically clear, accurate, and attractive design documentation from concept and masterplanning to construction detailing, within a multidisciplinary team environment.
You will be an excellent project manager able to deliver complex outcomes within an at times challenging community environment.You will also be a cooperative, respectful, and positive person, able to build and maintain networks, and think through high quality solutions to complex and competing project demands.
