Gemco Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced HSE Coordinator. Reporting to the PM on site and has a dotted line to the Safety Manager, you will primarily be responsible for coordinating all aspects of safety on site, including education and compliance workshops, overseeing contractors and trades to ensure all safety protocols and legislation are complied with and provide quality advice to project management teams in regard to all HSE matters.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular safety audits and reviews of current site safety practices, to identify gaps and implement improvements
• Organise and coordinate safety meetings, risk assessments, induction's, training, toolboxes etc
• Oversee general site safety
• Continuous monitoring of OHS Legislation and compliance requirements
• Management of all HSEQ procedures
• Work with project teams and contractors to ensure safety practices are understood and adhered to
• Review JSA's, monitor SWMS
• Report and investigate incidents, injuries and hazards and implement agreed control measures
• Ensure compliance with all site management plans
• Maintain all HSEQ records on site

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Tertiary qualifications in Safety, Quality, Project Management, Environment or related discipline.
• Trade qualification is advantageous
• 5 + years' experience working with either a Tier 1 or 2 Australian builder
• Possess extensive knowledge of construction methodologies
• Superior understanding of NSW Workplace Health & Safety Act
