JOB DESCRIPTION
The Team Leader Building Inspections is responsible for leading the Building Inspection Services team.
Key functions of the role include managing, mentoring and developing a team of technical professionals, providing expert technical advice and recommendations to stakeholders, inspections and audits on complex and high-risk matters to ensure compliance with legislation, act as the MBS VBA delegate and issuing appropriate documentation.
The role also actively contributes to strategic planning and drives continuous improvement of operations in the team.

Position Details
We are seeking an experienced leader to manage a team of Building Inspectors providing leadership, direction, expert technical advice and management of workflow and day to day activities of the team to ensure business outcomes and targets are met. This will include regular reporting, developing team and individual capabilities, contributing to the strategic planning and initiatives, undertaking complex inspection activity, instigating enforcement procedures and preparing technical written correspondence and reports.
To be successful in this position, you will be required to demonstrate: * High level experience in leading and developing a high functioning technical team to achieve targets and outputs within a regulatory focused environment.
- Substantial knowledge of the building industry and relevant legislation and frameworks with the ability to identify and respond to emerging issues.
- Advanced technical knowledge and demonstrated experience relevant to investigating and assessing complex building inspections, audits and permits.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate complex information, understand requirements and negotiate strategic outcomes to address issues.
- Posses a current Victorian registration as a Building Surveyor (limited or unlimited).

Salary package (Band 6.1) in the range of $120,692-$141,102 per annum (plus 9.5% super), will be negotiated with the successful candidate, depending on skills and experience.
