The Civil Engineer will manage and support the delivery of high-quality civil engineering services in the Roads and Fixed Assets unit within the Forest and Fire Assets Branch.
The purpose of this role is to manage and support service excellence in delivering civil engineering services, including managing and implementing the Department's state forest road, bridge and crossing construction, improvement, replacement, maintenance and management programs across the state, ensuring compliance with legislation, engineering standards, department policies and Codes of Practice, management of relationships with stakeholders and provision of advice on complex civil engineering issues.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

* A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering recognised in Australia.
* Experience in the assessment, design, development and/or construction of civil projects within or for a government department or road authority.
* Experience in contractor management including preparing specifications, undertaking design reviews and ensuring engineering outcomes are developed and delivered in accordance with the contract specifications.
* Experience specific to road and bridge design and/or in a forest environment will be highly regarded.

This is a fixed term position available for a period until 30 June 2023.
