 has recently been engaged by a 

major Marine and Defence Contractor

 to supply a number of


 to join their Henderson based team.

You will be responsible for the preparation and preservation of components and/ or structures in accordance with work instructions and specifications, within acceptable quality standards and timescales.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Cleaning surfaces prior to and after surface preparation to specification.
  • Conducting masking/encapsulation.
  • Mixing paint according to instructions.
  • Applying coatings via spray (Airless & Conventional), Brush & Roller to specification.
  • Performing basic quality control functions during application such as testing WFT.
  • Conducting works in various locations such as confined space and working at heights.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of equipment in accordance with QC standards.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are maintained in a clean, complete and safe condition.
  • Continuously monitor quality of work.
  • Measure and record batch numbers and equipment serial numbers.
  • Work in accordance with the company HSEQ policies.
Safety Responsibilities:
  • Follow all safety instructions and procedures.
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations and working procedures are adhered to and good housekeeping is practised at all times.
  • Wear appropriate PPE required for activity being carried out.
  • Report safety hazards immediately.
  • Attend daily pre-start meetings.
  • Be familiar with first aid facilities and emergency evacuation procedure.

 Criteria Essential Criteria
  • White Card
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in site painting.
  • Experience applying two-pack pants via Brush, Roller or Spray applications

Desirable Criteria
  • Confined space entry certificate.
  • Working at heights/EWP Certificate.
  • MSIC.
  • Trade certificate in Painting & Decorating or Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application
  • Defence, Industrial or Marine industry experience.
  • Able to undergo extensive pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
  • Strong work ethic with proven work history.
  • Positive and proactive approach to safety.
  • Willingness to work over time.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
