Geospatial Architect

Work Location: Perth Office

Roster: Monday - Friday

We are looking for a Geospatial Architect to backfill a role at our Perth office for a 12 month Fortescue fixed term contract.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Conduct GIS system management, web development and business data integration tasks as allocated by the lead Geospatial Architect.
  • Installation, administration, customization and configuration of ArcGIS Enterprise, GeoCortex Essentials and Viewers (HTML5) for web maps.
  • Utilize GeoCortex Analytics and health dashboards for monitoring GIS web services and server performance.
  • Advanced Automation and Integration of mapping functions within GeoCortex Essentials and/or Workflow 5.
  • Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, and Typescript programming languages.
  • Developing ArcGIS desktop add-ins with Microsoft .NET C#/VB and Esri ArcObjects and/or ArcGIS Pro SDK.
  • Help manage source code repository using GitHub.
  • Perform advanced geospatial analytics and semi-automated workflows utilizing Esri ArcGIS, GeoCortex and FME.
  • Integrate web services and geospatial data analytics with server less cloud geospatial data warehouses such as Google Big Query, Snowflake and Azure Cosmos DB etc.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Azure fundamentals or skills in Azure Portal and Google Cloud Platform administration.
  • Provide training to site staff, contractors and team members in geospatial software, web maps and field collection apps.
  • SQL Management Studio and ArcSDE database editing skills beneficial.
  • Adhere to the set guidelines and procedures used by Geospatial Services.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Completed BSc in GIS/Surveying/Data Science/Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of geospatial applications including but not limited to Esri ArcGIS, GeoCortex Essentials / Workflow 5 and FME Server.
  • Solid programming and coding skills including but not limited to Python, R, C+, Javascript, C++
  • Works with the Fortescue values embedded in their work practices – Essential
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to changing requirements and timeframes
  • Highly motivated team player is a priority
  • Excellent communicator who is approachable, with an enthusiastic, hardworking can-do attitude
  • Work well, and especially without supervision
  • A thirst for learning new GIS skills and share those skills with others
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills are essential
  • Procedural writing skills desirable
