VO Group Australia Pty Ltd (VO) is a leading privately owned company that has the backing of global construction giant CSCEC and its subsidiary CSCEC Curtain Wall, providing the highest quality façade and metalwork, design, supply and construction services to Builders, Architects and Owners. We are now having an exciting opportunity for a driven and talented Architect/Graduate Architect to join our team.
Position
Architect/Graduate Architect
Base annual salary $65k - 70k, plus superannuation & allowances.
Full time 38h/week
Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the Line Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct site analysis and assess the planning requirements, conditions, building codes and regulations in line with clients’ needs and environmental impact
- Develop design concepts/schematic designs including building plans, sections, diagrams, and advise on selection of materials and fitting
- Coordinate the design progress and make sure project schedule and budget are met
- Monitor and mitigate design risks, distractions and issues, and implement corrective actions
- Review and update briefs, revise sketch designs, prepare schedules of materials and layouts
- Produce and deliver technical and design documentation including construction drawings, plan and section details, schedules, specifications, and cost estimate
- Collaborate with engineers and consultants to develop structural details and services
- Assess project compliance issues, cost, timelines, progress and prepare tender reports
- Conduct site inspections to assess quality and progress, administer contract by providing contract documents and reports, and resolve project discrepancies and ambiguities
- Attending site meetings for conformance, clarification of project design details and construction issues
- Answer all relevant queries and provide builder with additional details and information, and issue instructions as appropriate
- Coordinate and approve proposed design amendments and alterations during construction
- Liaise and coordinate with clients, management, site teams and authority to ensure project requirements are met
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Architecture
- Minimum 2+ years of post-graduate experience
- Proven proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong design and documentation skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivation and passion in design and architecture
- Ability to work as part of a team and work autonomously
- Well-developed detailing and project coordination skills
- Commitment to delivering outstanding work
